Sunrise was the highlight of the day.
One of the activities that motivates me to keep an alarm and drag myself out of bed is the opportunity to shoot sunrise. It was both easy and hard today because the bed was just an inflatable mattress, and the flip flops made it easy to walk to the restrooms. I wasn't sure if there were any alligators in Georgia out there, but I had my trusted tripod to feed the alligators if they lunged at me.
There was a decent crowd at the beach, but the sun did disappoint a bit because of the overcast skies. It did not quite peek out of the water but once it was up in the sky a bit, the clouds and reflections were a sight to behold. It reminded me the golden sands of Keela Wee which was a fictional place in the Phantom comics. Turns out that there is a place called Keela Wee in Jamaica and it's named after the Phantom beach!!
Big day today -- today was the first working day on this trip and I wanted to make sure there were no hiccups. I took a call or two while driving and I pulled over for some other calls. For one of the longer meetings, I stopped at a Starbucks and had a much unnecessary coffee. There was a brief stop at Savannah, GA to meet a family friend and then it was onward to Charleston.
This was also the first day I was going to be at a hotel. Laundry, hot luxuriating shower, walls that don't have to be put up or taken down -- Nice! One could get used to this sort of thing.
I did have some work to get done so most of the time was spent there. I stepped out for a short walk in the evening but otherwise it was a nice gentle end to a day that was defined by Sunrise. The Aquarium Wharf seemed to be a nice place to walk around. It was closed but a nice peaceful walk.
Day 3 and I am still doing video summaries.
